Landowners

For rural landowners, wind development can mean an additional revenue stream to diversify income, without sacrificing existing land uses.

Benefits for all

  • Commercial-scale wind turbines typically take up approximately 1/3 of an acre each and are spaced more than 50 to 75 acres apart from each other.

  • With a wind farm on your property, you can earn substantial revenue every year and only 2-5% of your land is used by the turbines, associated facilities and access roads.

  • Farming, ranching, hunting, fishing and other activities that currently take place on your land can continue.

Open, Honest Collaboration

Developing a wind farm is a collaborative process. In our opinion, the most important components are the landowners and the community. Without their support and input, wind energy and its benefits would not be possible. Wasatch Wind Intermountain works very hard to establish open, honest and communicative relationship with our landowners and your communities.

We work with landowners on a lease that will ensure that your specific interests and your land is protected. This process includes carefully selecting locations for turbines, reclamation of the land and removing the turbines at the end of the project.  The Wasatch Wind team is available at any time when you have questions, and is always happy to put you in touch with other wind farm hosting landowners who can share their experiences.
